The standard mezzanine framing system consists of a steel deck supported by joists connected to main mezzanine beams. If required by design loads, the main beams are also supported by intermediate columns. The top flange of the joists aligns with the top flange of the primary beams.
The embossments on the top and sides of the deck sheet ribs enhance grip and reduce slip by bonding with the concrete, similar to regular reinforcement.
This system provides permanent formwork and additional reinforcement. Unlike conventional concrete slab construction, there is no need for the erection, removal, handling, or storage of timber or steel formwork, saving valuable time. The clean, uniform, and attractive ribbed underside (soft fit) is ideal for exposed situations and reduces ceiling finishing costs. The MS deck sheet is designed to handle the required floor load and is covered with concrete for added strength.
